This Weekend: Furnace Creek 508

October 1, 2009 by David Longdon Leave a Comment

This weekend is the epic Furnace Creek 508 a 508-mile event with 35,000 feet of total elevation gain across Death Valley.

Start time for the solo racers is 7:00AM Saturday.

The solo roster includes several top-notch regional riders, and I’m sure they would be happy to know that we are supporting them up here from the dark and rainy homeland. It looks like the web site will have a webcast of the race–so check back often and cheer on our local riders:

#1 Chris Ragsdale = 29:10:31

#2 Michael Emde = 29:47:34

#3 Brian Ecker = 33:14:06

#1W Leah Goldstein = 35:01:50

Jim Ryan = 39:31:01

Greg Olson = 47:25:14

Two-man team:
Thrasher: Robert James, Eric Troili (Everett, WA) = 43:49:45

Four man team:
Chinook: David Baker, David Fischer, Kern Kostenko, Diane Strycula = 37:26:10

Mary Betts = DNF

Kevin Van Dyke = DNF

Well we are all set to go. Tomorrow at 7am we will start the race. I am super excited and ready ready to go. Thanks everyone for all your support and thoughts. By the way my Totem is the RAM.
