Oct 7-10: Seattle Bicycle Film Festival

October 4, 2010 by David Longdon Leave a Comment

Celebrate urban cycling culture at the 10th Anniversary Bicycle Film Festival.

Seating is limited, so if you have been procrastinating, you might want to think about getting tickets in advance to make sure you can get in the door.

Festival passes are $35 or $10 for each program.

Screenings will be held at Western Bridge (3412 4th Ave South). Free bicycle valet parking will be provided at the screenings. Film highlights include:

THE CYCLOCROSS MEETING (Dir. Brian Vernor)
A film about the currently exploding US cyclocross scene, and the emerging Japanese cyclocross scene. The Cyclocross Meeting top US races in New Jersey and Oregon, and then to Japan, where they compete with seven-time Japanese National Champion.

BIRTH OF BIG AIR (Dir. Jeff Tremaine)
A documentary about BMX legend Mat Hoffman, produced by Spike Jonze, Priya Swaminathan and Dickhouse Productions.

RIDING THE LONG WHITE CLOUD (Dir. Alex Craig)
Seven professional skateboarders attempt to cycle New Zealand’s North Island in this beautiful documentary. They experience the Heaven and Hell of cycling New Zealand while traversing the island in search of skate spots.

LUCAS BRUNELLE LINE OF SIGHT (Dir. Benny Zenga & Lucas Brunelle)
His helmet-cam footage of unsanctioned street races around the globe gives us a unique perspective on the best urban riders in the world.

Post-showing parties happen at the Orient Express on Friday and The Siren on Saturday.
