NW MTB Series 2018 Finale

August 17, 2018 by David Longdon Leave a Comment

Fat tire formation

Wednesday evening was the finale of the 2018 NW Mountain Bike Series. Also known as the "Wednesday Night World Championships," this was the series' fifth season. The “world championships” reference pokes fun at the fact that although riders at local races and group rides are just out for bragging rights, everyone acts as though World Championship stripes are on the … [Read more...] about NW MTB Series 2018 Finale

Three Views of King County

June 22, 2018 by David Longdon Leave a Comment

The Eastside Rail Corridor Trail and the East Lake Sammamish Trail have small-grained firmly packed gravel that is suitable for standard road bike tires.

The ski area has operated since 1958, and activity options include … [Read more...] about Destination: Mt. Bachelor Ski Area

Although I've lived in the Pacific Northwest since 1994, I'm embarrassed to admit I rarely venture east of the Cascade Crest. Given the great cycling in the places I've lived during that time--Bellingham, Eugene, and Seattle--I've been lazy about exploring … [Read more...] about Destination: Walla Walla

July 25, 2017 by Lauren Baker Leave a Comment

A fun and easy way to get people involved in your rides (be they mountain or road) is to come up with a theme. A theme adds an element of fun, helps to build relationships, and can take the pressure off of riders who are worried about keeping up with faster, more competitive cyclists. Since cyclists generally love to eat and drink, starting, stopping at, or ending your … [Read more...] about Involve Your Friends in a Themed Ride
