Rider Profile: Martin Criminale

Martin is a Seattle native (his family moved here when he was five), and started racing in the early 1980’s. After taking 15 years off to get married and raise a son, he came back to win a Masters National championship, cultivate a fetish for endurance mountain bike races including the La Ruta de los Conquistadors and TransPortugal, and helped start Thumbprint Racing.

Alastair Locket’s History of Seattle Bike Racing

We did a rider profile of Alastair last Fall while he was recovering from serious head and neck injuries that resulted from a close encounter with a stiletto-heeled shoe on Rainier Ave. Alastair has raced on the road and on the track since the 1980s and has enjoyed an enviable level of success in both disciplines. As a result of his racing success, dedication to the sport, and longevity in the local peloton, he’s an inspiration to everyone.
