Sophia Liu’s Olympic Quest Nears Finish Line

January 22, 2020 by David Longdon Leave a Comment

Sophia finishing the 2018 Beijing Marathon

As noted in our original profile of runner/scientist Sophia Liu (Liu Ziyang), her athletic journey is similar to that of many other top Seattle-area women athletes. She discovered her remarkable athleticism by accident: grad school mates encouraged her to try running "just for the fun of it," after which she promptly won a marathon. Meanwhile, Sophia is dedicated to an … [Read more...] about Sophia Liu’s Olympic Quest Nears Finish Line

Not quite almost in Sarajevo: Doug Migden’s 2016 Transcontinental Race

August 10, 2016 by David Longdon Leave a Comment

Summer Charity Ride Season; Local Woman Riding Trois Etapes

August 6, 2014 by David Longdon Leave a Comment

If there is a "season" for charity bicycle rides, mid to late summer is it. This list is long...but just to highlight a few local upcoming events: This weekend I will be participating in the Obliteride benefitting the Fred Hutchison Cancer Research Center. Donate to High Performance Cycling's Obliteride team here. On Sunday local cycling legend Glenn Erickson is … [Read more...] about Summer Charity Ride Season; Local Woman Riding Trois Etapes
