Big Backyard 5K | 10K | Kids

An event every year that begins at 7:00 am on day first of June, repeating until June 8, 2025
Founded in 2010, the Big Backyard 5K, also known as the BBY5K, is a 5K run/walk at King County’s Marymoor Park. Proceeds from the BBY5K benefit King County Parks and brings the organization financial support for maintenance and operations of Your Big Backyard. With your help over the years, we have raised more than $250,000 for King County Parks!
Celebrating 10 years in 2019, we are adding a 10K distance option to commemorate this milestone year! Join us again and help us celebrate! Pick your distance and find your pace. Run/Walk 5K or Run 10K!
The event is family friendly and strollers and leashed dogs are always welcome on the course. Don’t forget to stick around after your run/walk for a FREE Kids Dash and post-race festivities featuring refreshing drinks, tasty food, great tunes, and fun prize giveaways.
KIDS DASH!
FREE for kids age 10 and under. Sign-up in-person ONLY on Race Day at the registration tent. Parents must sign a waiver in order for kid to participate.
Follow King County’s Marta the River Otter to the finish line in this very popular and fun ¼-mile loop! Parents may run with their kids. Kids will also receive a Bib Number and Finisher’s Ribbon.
Reminder that the kids dash is free to participate and there is NO kids t-shirt as part of this dash.
RACE DAY
7:00-8:45 a.m. – Registration and Packet Pickup (Use this opportunity to sign up in person for the FREE Kids Dash).
9:00 a.m. – START 5K Run/Walk and 10K Run
10:00 a.m. – 5K Awards recognition
10:15 a.m. – START (.25mi) FREE Kids Dash presented by ParentMap with King County’s Marta the River Otter (Sign-up in-person on Race Day at the Registration Tent)
10:30 a.m. – 10K Awards Recognition
