Devil’s Gulch 120Mi
July 8 @ 5:00 pm - July 11 @ 8:00 am PDT
An event every year that begins at 5:00 pm on day second of July, repeating until July 13, 2025
YOU MAY HAVE HEARD THAT 200 IS THE NEW 100, BUT DID YOU KNOW THAT 120 IS THE NEW 200?
Come join us for this wicked and beautiful course on the dry side of Washington! Feeling frisky? Consider doing the double: Devil’s Gulch 120 and Wild Florida 120! If you complete both, you get a special cross-country buckle and mad props/bragging rights.
Too freaked out by the 120 mile option? No worries, we get it. It’s big and scary. Wanna know something? We have a Devil’s Gulch 50 mile option just for you.
Are you still freaked out? Or are you a potential crew member/pacer/friend/spouse/ex-boyfriend of a badass 120 mile runner who wants to get their run on, but not to the extreme of your insane beloved? Join us for the East Side or Die Trail Half Marathon, a night race that will inject some energy into you and the poor souls still out on the course.
120 MILER GENERAL INFORMATION:
Distance: 120 miles
Elevation gain: 25,700’
Course: A 36-mile loop completed three times, followed by a 12-mile loop. Mostly single track, with some gravel forest road.
Cutoff: 48 hours
Pacers: runners are allowed to have pacers for the last large loop and the small loop (the final 48 miles). More details to come.
Swag/Awards: Everyone will get a shirt, a buckle, and free beverage and food at the finish line. Top 3 women and men will receive prizes.
The race will start and end at the Mission Ridge Ski area in Wenatchee, Washington state, and will take you up and over the rock face of Mount Lillian before launching you along and through the frigid waters of Devil’s Gulch. The course is a 36-mile loop with several aid stations and water drops repeated three times, followed by a 12-mile loop to get your 120 miles and your buckle. We’ll have the party going at the Ski area until the last runner comes through, guaranteed.
Typical weather: The daytime temperatures in this area can get very hot, and parts of the course are fairly exposed. Nights can be cool, especially at the higher elevations.
Required gear: The 120 mile course has a huge amount of elevation gain, and in July, this area is prone to being hot and dry. The aid stations are far enough apart that runners are required to carry at least two water bottles or a hydration pack. Nights can get cold, and runners will be required to have headlamps and cold weather clothing for safety.
This event is CUPLESS – please bring your own containers for fluids during the race (bottles, soft flasks, and collapsible cups) as well as after the race (for your beer!).
The race start/finish is approximately a 3-hour drive from downtown Seattle.
Dog policy: Sorry, no dogs allowed at this event! 🙁
From the resort, runners will run in a clockwise direction, taking the Squilchuck trail to Forest Road 9712, then to Mount Lillian Trail 1601. From here, runners will take Tronsen Ridge Trail 1204 to Red Hill trail 1223 and Red Hill Spur Trail 1223.1 all the way to NF-7100. Once they reach the road, runners will turn around and take Devil’s Gulch trail 1220 to Pipeline Trail and back to Squilchuck trail. This loop is approximately 36 miles. Runners will complete this loop three times, then will complete a small loop that begins and ends at the ski resort and follows the same route at beginning and end, but cuts across on Mission Ridge Trail 1201. This creates a 12-mile loop, totaling 120 miles for participants.

7:45 am: Race Briefing
