Fidalgo Trail Runs 5Mi | Half Marathon | Marathon
October 4, 2025 @ 8:00 am - 4:00 pm PDT
An event every year that begins at 8:00 am on day first of October, repeating until October 2, 2027
You will be hard pressed to find a race more beautiful than our Fidalgo Trail Run (or at least we think so)! This run takes place in Deception Pass State Park – the most-visited park in Washington – and weaves you through the forestlands, along the water and over the Deception Pass Bridge; if you’re scared of heights, don’t look down.
This is a great run for the whole family to enjoy. The race starts and finishes at Bowman’s Bay, which is located on the water with a sandy beach and picnic area. While your family is enjoying the relaxing atmosphere, you can tackle a 5-mile, half or full marathon run!
Woodland Speeders
As part of our new Woodland Speeders program, we offer free kid’s races at all of our events. Parents are welcome to run with their kids. You can register your child during the registration process for your own race or sign them up later. Distances vary and are approximate, but we aim for about 1K in distance.
Race Notes:
It bears repeating that half and full marathon runners will cross over the Deception Pass Bridge. While the bridge has stunning views of the Puget Sound, it also has a height of about 180ft and will remain open to traffic during the race (runners will stay on the pedestrian walkway).
In addition to the bridge being open during the event, the trails will be as well. Deception Pass State Park is a popular place, and it’s likely you will encounter other users. Please be courteous! See our FAQ page for more information about sharing the trails.
There will be aid stations throughout the course with volunteers to help, food to eat and hydration to refuel. And of course, there will be an assortment of yummy food and treats waiting for you at the finish line.
This is a cupless race. All runners should carry with them a refillable container that they can run with. There will be a limited number of cups for emergency situations.
