What Goes Up Must Come Down

The Gnar Gnar is a fun and breathtaking race that will send you up to the top of Mt. Hood Skibowl and then right back down in a more direct way. You can expect all the muscles in your legs to be screaming at you, and a giant grin on your face the whole time.

It is a very spectator and family-friendly event, so your fans can watch you going up and coming down the mountain. The whole course is 6 miles, with just over 1,900 feet of gain.

Location
The race takes place at Mt. Hood Skibowl. This winter ski and summer adventure park is in Government Camp, on Mt. Hood, in Oregon. It is just 55 miles/1.25 hours from Portland.

From Portland (55 miles/1.25 hours)

Take I-84 east to the Wood Village exit #16
NE 242nd to US 26
US 26 to Skibowl
From Bend (117 miles/2.25 hours):

Take US-97 north
After Madras stay left on US-26
US 26 to Skibowl
You can find hotels in Government Camp.

Stay & Play
When you finish, you and your friends and family should plan to stay and play at Skibowl. All runners can show their race bib and get 10% off the cost of admission to the adventure park that day. There are a ton of activities like the alpine slide, mini golf, ziplines, bungee trampoline, and more.
