Half Marathon Trail Series: Pie High Trail Run 5k | 10k | Half Marathon

An event every year that begins at 8:30 am on day third of July, repeating until July 15, 2023
The Half Marathon Trail Series features several half marathon trail runs over the course of the year, designed to both whet and sate trail runners’ appetites for this wonderful distance!
The different events offer courses at a variety of venues, each with a unique beauty and challenge. Run three or more to earn a full series score. See how you compare to others in your age group, or challenge yourself to go the distance three times this year.
For those looking for a hilly race, Pie High Trail Run is a great choice! And if you also enjoy a slice of delicious pie, then Pie High Trail Run is the perfect choice.
The course starts at the south end of the park and immediately spreads out the field with a respectable climb. From there, the course meanders through mossy forests, along tranquil ponds, creeks, and wetland preserves.
The course itself is a combination of single-track, old logging road, maintained hiking path, and a few bridges for good measure. It’s a very diverse course. Boredom is not an option at Lord Hill!

This event is part of the Half Marathon Trail Series, and runners in the Half Marathon distance will earn points toward their series standing.
The courses for all distances start and finish near the Snohomish River at the South end of the park. The routes are fairly hilly, with a big climb out of the start, then a mix of steep and moderate grades, as well as some flatter sections. These courses are moderately hilly by trail running standards. Courses include a mix of wider and narrower trails, with the newly-redesigned courses taking advantage of more of the sweet, new single-track trails. Most of the trails are not very twisty, but there are some parts with more twists and turns.
5k – 590 feet
10k – 1115 feet
Half Marathon – 2360 feet
Yes, these are hilly courses. The park is called Lord Hill for a reason.
5k – There are no aid stations on the 5k, so runners who wish should bring a drink and snacks with them.
10k – There will be one fully-stocked aid station at 3.3 miles.
Half Marathon – There will be two fully-stocked aid stations at 3.3 and 9.2 miles, and one water station at 6.4 miles.
Aid stations offer water, electrolyte drink, and some carbohydrate-rich or salty foods, such as cookies, pieces of energy bar, gels, chews, chips, bagel, fruity candy, fig bars, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, and/or bananas.
Queen & King of the Hill
Who will make it to the top of Lord Hill first?! We will crown a “Queen of the Hill” and a “King of the Hill”, and we will bestow these honors on the first woman and the first man who make it to the top of the hill after the start. The two winners will receive what else…a pie! And of course, bragging rights.

Directions & Parking
The start and finish for this event is headquartered at the south entrance, the entrance rarely open to the public, where there is a large gravel parking lot. Please use the directions provided here. If you follow directions from the official website for Lord Hill or simply type in “Lord Hill Park” into Google or another GPS device, the directions provided will likely take you to the north entrance.
