An event every year that begins at 7:00 am on day last of March, repeating until March 26, 2022

The Half Marathon Trail Series features several half marathon trail runs over the course of the year, designed to both whet and sate trail runners’ appetites for this wonderful distance!

The different events offer courses at a variety of venues, each with a unique beauty and challenge. Run three or more to earn a full series score. See how you compare to others in your age group, or challenge yourself to go the distance three times this year.

Spring Run for Fun @ Redmond Watershed Preserve is a local favorite thanks to its flat to gently rolling course with only a few short steep climbs. Lined with beautiful forest of Douglas fir trees and lush ferns, it’s the magic carpet ride of trail runs: All the scenery of a quintessential mossy Pacific Northwest forest, but without the big hills or technical challenge of many other venues. The route follows primarily wide dirt paths, ideal for beginners and a ton of fun for veteran trail runners. This is a fast course by trail running standards!

This event is part of the Half Marathon Trail Series, and runners in the Half Marathon distance will earn points toward their series standing.

Course Description
The 5-mile course is a lollipop loop, with runners leaving the start and returning to the finish via the same trail.

The 10-mile course is two times around the 5-mile course.

The Half-Marathon course is two identical laps, which generally follow the 5-mile course route but have two added out-and-back sections. Half-Marathon runners will pass by the aid station at the start/finish halfway through, and there will be an additional aid station passed twice at 3.54 miles into the 6.55-mile loop, for a total of three well-spaced aid stations for Half-Marathon runners.

The Marathon course is four identical laps, on the same loop as the Half-Marathon runners. Marathoners will pass by the aid station at the start/finish three times, and there will be an additional aid station 3.54 miles into the 6.55-mile Marathon course loop, for a total of seven well-spaced aid stations.

Both courses have low to moderate climb and mostly relatively wide, smooth trails, with few steep parts.

Aid Stations
An aid station is located at the turn-around point of the second out-and-back on the half marathon and marathon loop, about halfway (3.5 miles) into the 6.55 mile loop. There is also an aid station adjacent to the start/finish.

This means that Marathon runners will have 7 aid station stops, Half Marathon runners will have 3 aid station stops, 10-mile runners will have one aid station stop (half way), and 5-mile runners will not pass an aid station on-course. Food, water, and electrolyte drink will be available at the finish for everyone.

The aid stations offer water, electrolyte drink, and some carbohydrate-rich or salty foods, such as cookies, pieces of energy bar, gels, chews, chips, bagel, fruity candy, fig bars, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, and/or bananas.

Schedule
7:30am – Check-in and day-of-event registration opens
8:20am – Marathon pre-run briefing
8:30am – Marathon Start
9:20am – Pre-run briefing, 5-mile, 10-mile, Half Marathon
9:30am – 5-mile & 10-mile Start
9:35am – Half Marathon Start
4:30pm – Course closes

Directions & Parking
Park at the the Bear Creek Park & Ride. Unless you are part of a three-or-more person carpool, you must use this offsite parking and take a shuttle to the start. Carpools of three or more may park in the paved lot near the start while space is available.

Offsite Parking and Shuttle
Due to the number of runners participating and the small size of the lot in the park, parking for this run will be offsite, and there will be a shuttle bus to take you to the start and back to your car after you finish. The Bear Creek Park & Ride lot is about a four miles from the start. Please allow an additional 15 minutes to get from the remote parking to the start. Even with the offsite lot, there is limited parking, and we encourage carpooling. Carpools of three or more people are welcome to park in the paved lot at Redmond Watershed while there is room. There is also some street parking along NE Marketplace Drive, to the West of Redmond Ridge Dr. NE. It is a less than a mile jog from there to the start.

Shuttle schedule:
7:00am – first shuttle from Bear Creek Park & Ride (three shuttles will be making trips back and forth, one leaving approximately every 5-10 minutes)
9:00am – last shuttle from Bear Creek Park & Ride to the check-in and start
10:30am – first shuttle from Redmond Watershed parking lot to Bear Creek Park & Ride
4:00pm – last shuttle from Redmond Watershed parking lot to Bear Creek Park & Ride

Carpools of 3 or more will be allowed to park in the Redmond Watershed parking lot while spots are available. All carpools of 3 or more will be eligible for the carpool raffle!
