The Lake Sammamish Half Marathon takes runners along the smooth trail that connects Marymoor Park in Redmond to Lake Sammamish State Park in Issaquah. This interurban trail is very popular with runners; about 30% of the course will be on smooth gravel surface and 70% on pavement. We offer a generous 4 hour time limit for all participants. This flat run is perfect for a half-marathon personal best whether you’re running or walking!

The Lake Sammamish Half was started in 2010 by Roger Michel and Yumay Chang, and in later years Dana Anderson directed the race to great success. Orca Running is thrilled to be producing this season opener race for 2021 and beyond.

Start Line Location: Redmond Town Center, 7525 166th Ave NE, Redmond, WA 98052

Finish Line Location: Lake Sammamish State Park, 2000 NW Sammamish Rd, Issaquah, WA 98027

The Lake Sammamish Half course is USATF certified (certification number WA19027RMB) and hugs the eastern shoreline of Lake Sammamish. It is a fast course.

There will be aid stations on the course serving water, Clif Gels, and Nuun electrolyte drink. Runners will hit the aid stations at approximately 2.1, 4.7, 7.1, 9.1 and 11.3 miles.

SHUTTLES

We provide free shuttles for participants from the finish line back to the start line area. The shuttle is free for all participants. Non-participants are welcome to ride the shuttle when there is extra space available. The shuttles leave when full or every 15 minutes, whichever occurs first. The shuttles are heated.

Don’t forget to pick up your gear check bag before you board the shuttle!

PARKING

Start Line Parking: There is plenty of parking at Redmond Town Center. Please arrive early enough to find a spot, pick up your race packet, and get ready to start.

Finish Line Parking: Your friends and family are welcome to park at Lake Sammamish State Park to watch you cross the finish line. However, because it’s a state park, every vehicle is required to display a Discover Pass (good at all state parks and other state lands). You can purchase a pass in advance online or at the park’s automated pay station. Both one-day and annual passes are available.

AWARDS

Plaques will be given to the top 3 overall men and women. In addition, we have awards for the top 3 overall men and women in each 5 year age group. Age groups start with 19&under, 20-24, 25-29, up to 80-84.
