Mt. Hood 50km | 25Km
July 10, 2022 @ 6:00 am - 3:00 pm PDT
An event every year that begins at 6:00 am on day second of July, repeating until July 14, 2024
Welcome to the Mt. Hood Races!
The Mt Hood 50 is a classic Pacific Northwest race. Almost all of the 50M and much of the 50K are run on the heavily-shaded Pacific Crest Trail. The newer 25K distances doesn’t use the PCT, but take racers around Clackamas and Timothy Lakes on some great single-track and double-track trails.
The Mt Hood 50 Mile race fills up quickly so we use a lottery to give more people an opportunity to enter. Registration begins in early January.
The 50K and the 25K are not lotteries that open in mid-January. Once each distance is full (which usually occurs quickly), we will open wait lists.
The 50M race will start at 6:00 a.m. on Saturday.
The 50K starts at 7:00 a.m. on Sunday.
The 25K starts at 8:00 a.m. on Sunday.
There is no early start for any of the distances.
Post-Race and Awards
Join your fellow runners for some great post-race food while you cheer on the finishers! We start serving pulled pork, hamburgers, hot dogs, and veggie burgers at noon. Friends and family can eat too, for $5 (that goes to the race beneficiary – Pacific Crest Trail Association).
There are great awards from our sponsors for the top 3 men and women and top masters, and age group awards that go three-deep. All runners have a chance of scoring some great products from our sponsors in the raffle!
The Start/Finish will be at the Clackamas Lake Historic Ranger Station, near Timothy Lake, and approximately 20 miles south of Mt. Hood.
From Portland, take Hwy 26 towards Mt Hood, drive past Government Camp and continue ten miles past the Hwy 35/Hwy 26 intersection to Hwy 42 (also marked as Skyline Rd and Timothy Lake). The Hwy 42 turnoff is close to the 66-mile mark on Hwy 26. The Clackamas Ranger Station is 10 miles down Hwy 42, 1/4 mile past Hwy 42/Hwy 57 intersection on Hwy 42.
The Mt Hood 50 Mile provides 3 points, and the 50K is worth 2 points, toward every race of the Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc®.
