Please note the schedule below is subject to change up to including Echo Red to Red and two other events to keep you rolling into summer!
March 21st: Echo Red to Red
An amazing race to kick off the series!
April 4: 33rd Mudslinger
Since 1987 the Mudslinger has been a fixture in mtb racing and the Corvallis Community and the Northwest. Started by a local group of mountain bikers (Randy Pratt was the official ring leader) and cyclists, this event started out small with only the first person to cross the line to mark times down for the rest of the 20 or so people competing in 1987. The Mudslinger Tradition continues 17 miles west of Corvallis on Starker Forest Property each year with “classic” NW Mountain biking for the beginner or expert rider and post-event Pasta Feed for all!
2020’s featured Podium Pint glass is Jon Myers! An All Star of Oregon mountain biking for over 25 years!
May 9: Cascade Chainbreaker | Bend, Oregon Presented by the Bend Endurance Academy
This is the 25th annual Cascade Chainbreaker presented by the Bend Endurance Academy. Held entirely on the private land of the Skyline Forest, northwest of Bend, this course features an uphill gravel start, a mix of flowing singletrack and fast doubletrack for passing. The Two Bulls Fire destroyed much of the old course in 2014 so the 2015 course went to a longer single-lap format. With a generally non-technical beginner loop and usually friendly weather, it’s a great race for beginners to try some racing. Food and drinks (complimentary beer (in a can) from Deschutes Brewery are available at the finish for those over 21. Free Kids Race; cash purse for top 5 men and top 5 women; and awards with goodie bags are held onsite.
May 24: Sisters Stampede | Sisters, Oregon
The Sisters Stampede started in 2010 after a revised trail system in Sisters, Oregon called the Peterson Ridge trail. Through cooperation with the US Forest Service, the Sisters Trail Alliance created a trail system which caters to all types of trail use including Mountain biking, running, hiking, and equestrian (separate trails).
With approval and cooperation from the US Forest service, the Sisters Stampede was then created to showcase the great trail system in Sisters and create awareness of how cycling can change the way small towns look at tourism and recreation in Oregon.
A race that begins just steps from Three Creeks Brewing and Five Pine lodge was just the ticket to get things started.. Throw it on Memorial Day Weekend, and its a blast!
After a unique race started out by a cowboy or cowgirl on horseback, the Sisters Stampede takes riders through a forest covered in Pine, Lava, and sunshine. Beginning with a few miles of double track road is key to stretching out the large fields of riders who have come to be a part of this event. Riders can enjoy two distances depending on skill, and endurance levels (12 miles, or 27 miles). After finishing the race, riders can recover with food, music, and Three Creeks beer while watching the kids ride and participate in their own race.
June 7: Coast Hills Classic | Newport, Oregon
Newport is reviving the old “Mountain Bike Festival” atmosphere with a great race, food, beer, kids races, vendors, music, tons of raffle prizes, and a big cash purse. We have an awesome course designed with gorgeous ocean views, meadows, great single track, killer climbs, forest canopies, fast downhills, and cool ocean breezes!
This event is brought to life by a public-private partnership in the true spirit of community. Bike Newport, the Newport News-times and other local volunteers are volunteering alongside staff from the Newport Parks and Recreation Department to breath new life into this old race, formerly known as the Ben Eder Memorial. Proceeds from the event will go towards the youth programs scholarship fund at the Newport Recreation Center. Which allows children from economically disadvantaged households with the opportunity to participate in a number of fantastic programs.
June 20: Alpine Epic | Westfir and Oakridge, Oregon
50, 25, and 12 mile courses
Please note the longer 50 miler is not part of the XC series scoring, but a epic time indeed!
Subject to updates!
Discover singletrack paradise at the Alpine Epic – an XC mountain bike endurance legacy race brought to you by Cascade Cream Puff and the Alpine Trail Crew Association – featuring world-renowned, pristine singletrack on a 50, 25 or 12 mile course on the Alpine Trail system, also known as the “crown jewel” mountain bike destination in Oakridge! This course winds through open beargrass meadows, stunning vistas and old growth groves, to unsurpassed wildflower displays and lush green carpets of PNW rainforests. Along the way, enjoy well-stocked aid stations featuring a veritable smorgasbord of your favorite race treats, and some original gourmet surprises!
