May 15 @ 7:00 am - 2:00 pm PDT
An event every year that begins at 7:00 am on day third of May, repeating until May 18, 2025
Smith Rock Ascent trail race provides three scenic courses to challenge yourself in one of Oregon’s Seven Wonders – Smith Rock State Park.
15-miler takes you through the park and up Burma Road to Gray Butte where you’ll have supreme views all around.
4-miler goes up Misery Ridge and past the Monkey Face pillar in a loop course.
The Smith Rock Ascent races have become so popular, and it is easy to see why. You get to spend the weekend at one of the most scenic places in Oregon – Smith Rock State Park. The event spans the whole weekend, with a 50K on Saturday and the 15-Mile and 4-Mile on Sunday. There are free kids races both days. The trails in and around the state park provide stunning views of the rock faces where you’ll see climbers scaling the tall walls, as well as vistas of the Three Sisters and Mt. Jefferson. You’ll get up high in both races, where you see the grasslands around you. This race is a treat for your eyes, and for your legs.
