Stumptown Trail Runs Half Marathon
May 29, 2021 @ 7:15 am - 12:30 pm PDT
An event every year that begins at 7:15 am on day last of May, repeating until May 24, 2025
Formerly known as Trail Factor 50K & Half Marathon, these races in Portland are now called Stumptown Trail Runs.
The trails of Forest Park are a real treasure for runners and an opportunity to run a race on them shouldn’t be missed. The only 50K held in Portland, the Stumptown Trail Runs route will include everyone’s favorite – Wildwood Trail – but also some lesser traveled and less well-known paths, with approximately 4,000′ of elevation gain.
The Stumptown Trail Runs half marathon is a fun, challenging and well-supported race that includes beautiful trails and lots of friends and family.
Both races support the Forest Park Conservancy.
7:15-8:30 am: Half marathon bib pickup and day-of-race registration (if spots available).
9:00 am: Half Marathon start
11:30 am: Awards
12:30 pm: Course closes
Directions and Parking
The race start is a quarter mile up Leif Erikson from the gate at the top of Thurman St. Map.
Parking is on neighborhood streets. Carpooling, taking public transit, or ride share is highly recommended as the parking can get tight and we need to be respectful of the local residents. Do not block driveways. Take Lyft to the race, and use code “stumptownrocks” to get a special discount (good for new customers)
Given that the park borders private property, there is no parking for spectators at any of the aid stations.
Forest Park is a public municipal park in the Tualatin Mountains west of downtown Portland, Oregon, United States. Stretching for more than 8 miles (13 km) on hillsides overlooking the Willamette River, it is one of the country’s largest urban forest reserves. The park, a major component of a regional system of parks and trails, covers more than 5,100 acres (2,064 ha) of mostly second-growth forest with a few patches of old growth. About 70 miles (110 km) of recreational trails, including the Wildwood Trail segment of the city’s 40 Mile Loop system.
