The Longview Rotary Club presents Tour de Blast, an out and back bicycle ride on the Spirit Lake Memorial Highway up the Toutle Valley into the Mount St. Helens blast zone.
Most of the course is on recently resurfaced highway with wide shoulders and excellent visibility. Fully supported ride with staffed rest areas (food and drink), bike repair, sag wagons and on-course motorcycle aid if things just don’t work out (flats, tired, Sasquatch sighting…).
Starting in 2023 the turnaround has been at Coldwater Creek instead of the Johnston Ridge Viewpoint due to a complete road washout. Check the website for current conditions.
