Union Bay Weeknight Adventure Race
June 18, 2019 @ 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm PDT
An event every year that begins at 7:00 pm on day third of June, repeating until June 21, 2022
Join us for this wet urban race through the waterways, parks, trails and streets around Union Bay, as part of our Weeknight Adventure Race Series. This will be a 2.5-3 hour race with Canoeing, Biking, and Trekking.
This race features the always-popular Arboretum Canoeing section!
This will be a varied and fun race in day and possibly some night conditions near the end. There will be Canoeing, Biking, and Trekking disciplines. The biking will be on streets or hard packed dirt trails. You should be able to use a road or cross bike. The Trekking in this race will be quite short to make room for the canoeing.
You will start with Canoeing at the University of Washington Waterfront Activities Center (WAC) where you will rent your own canoe and gear from them before the race. You will need to pay Krank $13/person directly for your canoe before the race. Canoes can hold 1-2 people, so if you have a 4 person team, plan on renting 2 canoes. If you’re solo or a 3-persont eam, you can pair up with another solo or team.
Due to the Canoeing logistics, this race has a flexible start at 5:30pm (it should still end very close to 10:00pm).
There will be post-race hot soups and food to get you replenished.
