The Yamhill Gravel Fondo is a gravel event that passes through the beautiful hills of Oregon’s wine and timber country. With three route lengths to choose from, this will be a gravel event for everyone from beginners to seasoned pros. Race for the best-timed finish or meander at will and soak up the beauty of the Yamhill Valley. Make it your own adventure or personal challenge.

The YGF is essentially three events in one:

PICCOLO 18-MILE ROUTE
Let’s start with the Piccolo 18-mile event. This course is a great way to see if you like gravel races. The route consists of 2 miles of paved roads and 16 miles of gravel roads. It is very flat with a couple of punchy climbs right at the start and finishes with an easy false flat at the end. The total elevation gain for the 18 miles is less than 1,200 feet. A perfect event for the spouse or children while the family racer is out on a longer route. This event now has a 17 and under age group.

MEDIO 37-MILE ROUTE
The next route is the Medio 37-mile event. This is a true gravel course best suited for Gravel or Cyclocross bikes. Expect lots of fast gravel mixed with some two tough climbs. It is made up of 12.5 miles of paved roads and 24.5 miles of gravel roads. You will get to climb Moores Valley Rd along with the paved Old Wagon Road climb. The total elevation gain is 2,355 feet.

GRANDE 60-MILE ROUTE
The Grande 60-mile course is for the person who wants a true challenge. You will get six great climbs, lots of fast gravel roads, minimal paved sections, and a white-knuckle descent to Patton Valley. Whatever bike and tire combo you choose, it will be the wrong choice at some point. This route will test your skill and mettle. It includes 49 miles of gravel roads and 11 miles of paved roads. The total elevation gain is 5,470 feet.

The Yamhill Gravel Fondo will take place in the northern sector of beautiful Yamhill Valley on April 20, 2019 (Saturday). The start and finish will be at the Flying M Ranch. The after ride party will also be held at the Flying M Ranch, which is along the upper section of the Yamhill River. The venue also offers camping and bathrooms.
