Join this fun-oriented, non-competitive bicycle ride through the historic Kettle Valley Rail Trail starting at the famous Myra Canyon, Kelowna, BC.
Abandoned railway corridors hold unparalleled opportunities as recreational trails, and the Kettle Valley Railway is no exception. This corridor is one of the most dynamic routes in Canada, with some truly impressive scenery and spectacular views. The 80 km route is challenging with the average time being 5.5 hours. The 40km route will take approximately 2.5 -3.5 hours. The 20 km route will take approximately 1.25 – 1.75 hours. Cycling this trail is truly a dynamic and challenging venture that unfolds over the expanse of place and time.
ROUTES
80km Myra Canyon / Kelowna to Penticton Lakeside Hotel and Resort
The 80km route starts with 18 trestles and two tunnels, beautiful views, flat profile for the first 36km then a 2.2% decline to Penticton.
40km Chute Lake Resort to Penticton Lakeside Hotel and Resort
The 40km route starts at the half way point “Chute Lake” goes through Rock Oven Regional Park, Naramata Wine Country and is a 2.2% decline to Penticton.
20km Glenfir Loop to Penticton Lakeside Hotel and Resort
The 20km route starts at Glenfir Loop there is 4 km of gravel then 16 km of recycled asphalt.
