This one is a ways off, but registration is limited, and since a travel plan is needed for Seattle-area residents you may want to start thinking about this one sooner than later.
Event organizer Bill Haskins has received a permit from the National Park Service to hold the 4th Crater Lake Century on Saturday, August 16, 2008. This event benefits the Klamath County Museums.
Bill is frantically working to update the registration site, and it should be up and running by the first of April. Bill advises to periodically check the web site for registration updates. Registration will be limited to 225 spots for the Century Ride and 75 spots for the Metric Century. Both rides involve considerable climbing, with about 7,500 feet of uphill in the century.
Although a bit of a schlep for Seattle area residents, the tour around Crater Lake is probably one of the top rides in our part of the world, if not the entire U.S.
