The 2008-09 edition of Velocity’s Most Visible Night Cyclist contest has been off to a slow start, but let’s carry on… The contest originated in 2007 as a way to inspire the hordes of invisible cyclists whizzing through the streets of Seattle to get illuminated.
Past winners:
November 2008 winner: David Leistensnider
February 2008 winner: Josh Larios
January 2008 winner: Jason Babcock
December 2007 winner: Jeff Youngstrom
November 2007 winner: Derek Pearson
As you can see, the Down Low Glow has been a key part of many of the winner’s ensembles.
Contest guidelines:
Email me one or more pictures of the lighting setup in action (or a link to a web page as some previous winners have done), along with a description that will help folks who wants to replicate your system.
Entries will be judged on:
**Practicality
**Attention-getting-ness, and
**Creativity
In the event of a tie, the winner will be chosen on the proximity of their home to downtown Seattle.
If you won last year, you can enter if you have a completely new configuration to show us.
Deadline for this month’s contest is end of business Monday, January 19.

In addition to all the fame winners get by being posted on this blog, the January winner gets a prize…
The winner will be announced at the end of the January.
