This one came in via a WSBA transmission, but may be of interest to Randonneurs, high-performance cyclists, and any endurance-minded cyclist:
Herriott Sports Performance is hosting a presentation by Peter Schmidt and Dr. Brian Perry on Health and Nutrition for the Endurance Athlete.
Schmidt and Perry are both with the Institute of New Medicine, which is nationally recognized for its work with cyclists and triathletes. Their client base includes many of the world’s top athletes, including George Hincapie, Peter Reid, Tim DeBoom, and Ryder Hesjedal. They work with all levels of athletes from first time competitors to world champions and Olympians.
This presentation will cover general concepts of health, sports medicine, nutrition, recovery, supplementation, and IV nutritional support for cyclists and triathletes (IV support??? Will a morphine drip help me climb better??). If you have questions about nutrition and health, this is a fantastic oppurtunity to learn more.
The presentation is from 1:00-3:00 pm on Saturday, March 22nd and is FREE.
