This Sunday, October 10, is the last 2010 Intro to Women’s Cycling and Racing Teams ride! It’s your chance to connect with women’s teams and other women interested in racing and/or improving their riding skills.
A combination of women from many of the local racing teams will host this ride, for women only. If you are new to the racing community, looking to strengthen your riding skills, thinking about racing, or wanting to speak with other women about local racing teams or riding opportunities, this ride’s for you!
-Time: 9:00 AM at Pert’s Deli in Seattle’s Leschi neighborhood (120 Lakeside Ave, Seattle WA 98122). Prepare to be on the road by 9:10 AM. Please don’t be late!
-Route: south end of Lake Washington
-Skills: pacelines, riding a straight line, and racing tactics/techniques. Depending on turnout, we’ll break into groups no greater than 10 to keep it manageable and go over the basics, making sure to keep things fun and not stressful.
-Safety emphasis: Come early and have your helmet checked by a trained helmet fitter. This is a simple but important and often overlooked step that’s crucial for cycling safety. Look/ask for Eden in the Team Group Health jersey.
