Last month I mistakenly reported that events put on by the Seattle International Randonneurs are for members-only.
The truth according to Jeff Loomis is: “…all SIR rides are open to everyone. We charge a fee for most rides and there is a member discount, but everyone is welcome.”
April’s populaire is this Saturday, April 13th. Most of the route is on the Centennial Trail and as one of SIR’s easiest 100K’s it will be a great opportunity to dip your toes into the world of randonneuring.
The ride organizer recommends you “start the ride with a ‘cup of joe’ and a delicious pastry at the soon to be old Snohomish Bakery location then head up to Bryant to the start of the new Centennial Trail extension. Exit the trail at the recently renovated Red Barn and in just a couple of miles on route 9 and arrive at the Lake McMurray store. Back in Snohomish enjoy a refreshing beer and/or bite to eat at the Trails End Taproom and Restaurant.”
Start:
Snohomish Bakery
920 First Street, Snohomish, WA
9 AM
Finish:
Trails End Taphouse and Restaurant
511 Maple Avenue, Snohomish, WA
Register here for free even if you are not a SIR member.
