Now in its fourth year, Cycle the WAVE is an all-woman’s ride that raises funds for the victims and their families of domestic violence. This year’s event happens this Sunday, September 18th, with four course options starting and finishing at Tibbetts Valley Park in Issaquah:
– 12-mile Little Sister (new this year, complete with a “Lemonade Stand” rest stop!)
– 25-mile Girly Girl
– 42-mile Middle Sister
– 62-mile metric century Burly Girl.
The start/finish area will include incredible food, a spa stop, a raffle for a bike and other prizes, and finish line photos.

Executive Director Sharon Anderson says they expect 1,000 participants this year. The weather forecast for Sunday looks perfect: partly cloudy and 65 degrees.
Check it out, this ride even has its own theme music:
Cycle the WAVE was founded and created to inspire fitness, increase awareness and instill hope. 100% of net proceeds benefit domestic violence programs, including Eastside Domestic Violence Program (EDVP), DAWN and New Beginnings which provide services to affect change for domestic violence in our communities. Last year, these 3 agencies collectively served more than 25,000 callers alone on their 24-hour crisis lines.
“There is hope. Get a bike…and cycle your butt off!”
