Meet the Teams, Ride with a Group

Given that we are in Meet the Teams season, the timing is perfect to check out this article from Active.com entitled To Group Ride or Not to Group Ride that discusses the pros and cons of group riding.

If you ever intend to ride in proximity with others, I strongly recommend dedicating yourself to periodically scheduling a group ride. If you are on the faster end of the spectrum, a team may be the way to go, though the Cascade Bicycle Club has a High Performance Cycling group that may help the likes of you as well. If you prefer a leisurely pace, the Seattle area clubs offer group rides almost every day of the week.

I’ll probably get hate mail from triathletes about this, but if you attend a group ride, leave the Tri bike at home if you can. Aero bars are usually an instant signal of danger to the rest of the group. Those aero bars are fast, but unsafe in a group setting.
