Naming Names

During the Fall this blog features a “rider profile” series that highlights the accomplishments of local riders. Past profiles have included young up and comers, cancer survivors, weekend warriors with family and work obligations, and older riders who can humble younger folks.

A couple weeks ago I asked WSBA members, the Seattle International Randonneurs, and Cascade’s High Performance Cycling Team for recommendations about riders they thought ought to be highlighted. Last year I had to work to drum up just a few nominations. This year, the goblet overflow-eth and there are significantly more suggestions than I can handle.

Since not everyone on the list will get profiled this year, I do want to acknowledge everyone who got recommended because they all have interesting stories:

1. 20/20 Fuel (Jr. Team)
2. Adrian Hegyvary
3. Alastair Locket
4. Bob Kaye
5. Brian Ecker
6. Carol Johnson
7. Craig Etheridge
8. Cyclos Montagnards (promoters of unsupported long distance cycling)
9. Dan Boxer
10. Dave Richter
11. Diana Larson
12. Emma Becker
13. Erik Anderson
14. Gina Kavesh
15. Jadine Riley
16. Jan Heine
17. Jeff Scott
18. Jennifer Chang
19. Jessica Cutler
20. Joe Holmes
21. John Hill
22. Karen Armstrong
23. Kenny Williams
24. Leah Goldstein
25. Lucy Cutler
26. Martin Criminale
27. Marty Thomas
28. Michael Emde
29. Michele Maislen
30. Peg Winczewski
31. Rob Campbell
32. Robert Higdon
33. Ron Himschoot
34. Ryan Schmid
35. Scott Ramsey
36. Vincent Muoneke
37. Will Goss

Look for profiles of some of these folks in the months to come.

The final selection process will be made using software that utilizes an algorithm based on the Heisenberg uncertainty principle, and hardware consisting of a dartboard, Tarot cards, and an Ouija board.
