Last week’s heavy rains got me thinking about a new bicycle technology:
The prototype rain bike in action under wet conditions.
Early testing shows that it works great in wet conditions, but the Quantum Mechanics are on strike and refuse to budge on the laws of physics needed to reduce the rolling resistance in dry conditions.
If/when the rolling resistance issue gets resolved, development staff will begin to investigate alternative water bottle cage technologies. This will likely coincide with the day hell freezes over.
This isn't a regional ride, but the cycling enthusiast seizes the opportunity to spin whenever it arises, even when the location happens to be the trailing edge of a frontal system strong enough to blow several states on a visit with the Wizard of Oz.
A recent business trip took me to Manhattan. Although I was usually preoccupied with route finding after taking the wrong exit point from the subway, I did keep an eye out for things of interest to the cyclist.
