The Fourth Annual Davis Phinney Foundation Benefit Ride with Glenn Erickson is scheduled for Sunday, June 3rd 2012.
Glenn was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease in August of 2009 and has responded very well to treatment; partly due to his love for cycling, the disease is progressing slowly with minimal symptoms. As usual, he will spend most of the coming summer leading his famous European tours in France, Italy, Austria and Switzerland.

Both Glenn and Nancy Erickson, along with Fischer Plumbing Cycling, have made a commitment to raise awareness of this disease and to support the Davis Phinney Foundation. Davis Phinney, world renowned cyclist and Olympian, has been living with Parkinson’s for over 14 years and has worked tirelessly to help those living with the disease live better and happier lives. For us, as cyclists, there is no better way to show our support than a benefit bike ride with ALL of the funds raised going to the Foundation.
This year’s ride has three optional courses to accommodate all riders:
1. A 33 mile course led by Nancy Erickson for folks wanting a shorter but challenging ride.
2. 65 mile course led by Glenn Erickson. Glenn’s group is designed for strong non-racer types looking to improve fitness as well as enjoy some of the roads Glenn trained on in his years of racing.
3. 75 mile course led by Galen Erickson. Galen’s ride is tailored for Cat 1,2,3 and other strong riders
Of course, all three courses are open to all riders at any time regardless of ability or pace.
Since this is a benefit event, a donation of $10 or more is requested.
