Freshly Paved Colman Park

I’m not going to claim that cycling fresh asphalt gives anywhere near the sensory pleasure of skiing fresh snow, but it is pleasurable nonetheless. Most of my rides finish with the climb up through Colman Park on Lake Washington Boulevard S (interestingly the “main” stretch of road north of Colman Park is called Lakeside Ave.) and even with potholes and broken pavement it was fun.

The gossip on recent group rides: “Have you ridden Colman Park lately? It is sweet!”

Always one of the more delightful short sections of road in Seattle, Lake Washington Boulevard S through Colman Park is freshly paved.

If you haven’t been on this blissful stretch of pavement lately, check it out. If you need to get to Leschi, just continue to wind northbound on Lake Washington Boulevard S through Leschi Park and drop back down to Leschi.
