Leschi Cycling Scene

Faced with impending flood watches and warnings in western Washington, riders were out in force this morning to get in some dry road miles. My ride started in Leschi: The place to be seen when you’re decked out in lycra and rolling skinny tires.

The Starbucks in the Leschi neighborhood is a frequent starting point for many Seattle group rides.

Rumor has it a cyclist went down hard on the I-90 bike path this morning. Hopefully the rider is doing ok.

The I-90 bike path is usually a bit of an obstacle course: Slow-ish and single file is the safest way to make the passage. There is plenty of room to hit the gas when you get to Mercer Island or Lake WA Blvd.
