Tons of cycling-related events this weekend. On Sunday morning I joined Tom Meloy‘s Hills of the West Coast ride to get some leg-burning vertical, then headed over to Fremont to watch the Fremont Criterium.
When we arrived the fast women were zipping around the course at a blistering pace.
The category 1, 2 & 3 women utilize the gravitational field at the center of the universe to slingshot around the course.
Sprinkles and rain started just as the men’s category 3 race began, and there was no lack of skittering metal and flesh against concrete. All the bystanders could do was utter “ouch.”
The category 3 men hunt for Lenin’s ghost in Fremont.
No official body count yet. For more flesh-eating, bone-crunching action the Cascadia Crits series continues this week at Seward Park on Thursday, in Ballard on Saturday, and Boat Street on Sunday.
