The Rendezvous

This bench is a new sight for those of us who are frequent flyers on the I-90 Bike Trail:

This plaque is in the paver in front of the bench:

Chris’ obituary is here and reads:

“Born April 7, 1958 in Seattle, died October 17, 2012. Chris was the son of Lyle and Betty Appleford. Also survived by his wife Marcia Bruno, children Charlotte and Elliott, sisters Robin Appleford and Barbara Beier. He attended McGilvra, Meany, Lakeside, Whitman College, University of Washington, and received a Master’s of Architecture at the University of Pennsylvania. He was a highly respected Senior Associate at NBBJ. An Eagle Scout, avid bicyclist, hiker, skier and outdoorsman. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Memorial celebration will be held at The Hall At Fauntleroy, 9131 California Avenue SW, Seattle at 2:00 PM, November 11. In lieu of flowers, remembrances to Seattle Cancer Care Alliance, 825 Eastlake Avenue East, Seattle 98109.”
