Trail running legend Ann Trason will be in Seattle at Seven Hills Running Shop next Monday evening at 7PM.
She’s bringing one of her Western States 100-Mile Endurance Run cougar trophies to Seven Hills where it will reside on long-term loan.
Check out Western States’ history and see Ann’s name recur year after year…
Ann will discuss trail running and her amazing ultra running accomplishments. Seven Hills will provide food and drink for all ages. Ann doesn’t like the limelight, so expect an informal, social experience.
Ann is 57 and resides in Auburn, CA. She is considered one of the greatest ultra runners of all time. She won Western States an unmatched 14-times. She twice scored a near miraculous “double ultra” in 1996 and 1997 when she won the Comrades Marathon in South Africa and Western States less than two weeks apart.
Her course record include:
-American River 50 mile 6:09:08
-Cool Canyon Crawl 50K 3:59:32
-Firetrails 50 mile (1987) 7:31:24
-Hunter Thompson 50 mile 6:13:54
-Leadville Trail 100 women’s record (2nd place overall in 1994) 18:06:24
-Miwok 100K Trail Race (2001) 8:55:49
-Quicksilver 50 mile 6:43:00
-Silver State 50 mile 7:29:36
-World 100K (1995) 7:00:47
In addition to her running accomplishments, she has devoted some time to ultra cycling and successfully completed a Cascade 1200km, hosted by the Seattle International Randonneurs. But, she prefers the social-ness of running compared to cycling.
As a pioneer in a sport that was (and still is?) male-dominated, Ann prefers to focus the conversation around her efforts to support and inspire women and girls in running.
Don’t miss this opportunity to meet Ann!
