Meet Garmin-Cervelo Pros November 26th-29th

We are fortunate to have several top-level pros who call the Seattle area home (when they aren’t recovering in Girona or Ghent). Next week there are several opportunities to meet and ride with Garmin-Cervelo pros Martijn Maaskant, Tom Peterson, and Tyler Farrar:

Peterson Bicycle Shop is hosting several events on November 26th and 27th:

November 26th
4:00-6:30PM: Meet, chat, and get autographs signed at Peterson Bicycle Shop. Map.

8PM: Pre-register (or purchase tickets at the shop) for an all inclusive wine and dine event where you can sit back and enjoy the company of three of the best professional cyclists in the world. Wine to be served by Erik Liedholm, event catered by CRUSH. $150 per person. Limit 20 persons.

November 27th
1:30-2:30PM: Join the pros for a casual ride (route to be determined). The ride starts at Peterson Bicycle Shop. Map.

November 29th
6:30PM: The Husky Cycling Club and InHealth Sports and Performance Care present Tyler Farrar and Dr. Dan Tripps in a Q & A discussion format that will cover everything from Tyler’s start in his hometown of Wenatchee, WA, to his experiences in the Grand Tours. Dr. Tripps is a national authority in exercise physiology and sports psychology and he will be discussing “The Psychology of Winning.”

Admission is a suggested donation of $5-10, with all proceeds going to the Husky Cycling Club. Parking is limited, so please carpool or bike to the event if at all possible.

About the pros:

Martijn Maaskant
Residence: Holland
Age: 7/27/1983
Martijn will arrive in the shop from the Netherlands. Martijn is considered one of the best classics riders from his era. This year he was plagued with injuries, but is back and set to deliver more impressive results in 2012.

Tom Peterson
Residence: Renton
Age: 12/24/1986
Tom calls Renton home. Tom’s specialty is working to set riders like Martijn and Tyler up for the win. Tom spends most of his races “on the attack”, trying to animate the things and put pressure onto the other teams. This year Tom briefly held the leaders jersey during the Tour of Turkey. At the end of the race he finished in fourth overall. Tom is the owner of Peterson Bicycle Shop.

Tyler Farrar
Residence: Seattle

Tyler lives just on the other side of the lake in Seattle. Tyler is perhaps the best sprinter in the world.
