Seward Park Series: Pretty in Pink

With cherry blossoms in nearly full bloom around Lake Washington, this week’s Seward Park Series was “pretty in pink.”

This classic Seattle weekly hammerfest is now in its 29th year, and is a focal point for the region’s bike racing community. Most participants ride to the race, race, then ride home often with a pit stop to commiserate with friends. If you are new to the area or new to bicycle racing, the Seward Series is a great way to connect with Seattle’s bike racing community and identify teams or clubs you may want to join.

One of the racers to keep an eye on is Adrian Magun. When he’s doing intervals around Mercer Island, he’s inflicting pain on adults.

Pros and former pros often participate to keep their racing legs fresh or get in a workout. This week, Jennifer Wheeler was racing. Look for Jennifer at the 2018 Amgen Tour of California Women’s Race empowered with SRAM. She’ll be competing as a member of the USA Cyclng Team.

Sad news: The leader of the 7PM series David “Rocket” Richter crashed during the 7:00 event and suffered a broken collarbone, scapula, ribs, and a partially collapsed lung. Here’s wishing Dave a fast uneventful recovery.

Series results.
